In 2013, not only the city of Košice is the European Capital of Culture, but also the whole Self-governing Region of Košice, including the town of Michalovce, contributes to the project.

The town of Michalovce is one of the 13 towns of the Košice Self-governing Region, which contributes to the program Terra Incognita with its event called Double Fest. This festival wants to present the richness of the unique traditions, culture, gastronomy of our region, and present to you the skilled people living in this region.

Our aim is to continue with the tradition of the festival in the following years, and nurture the events which will appeal, enrich, and leave precious cultural experience for years to come.

The festival is financed from the financial means of the municipality, from a subsidy by the Košice Self-governing Region (grant of € 16.000) within the program Terra Incognita, as well as contributions from sponsors, to whom we hereby express our gratitude.
